Benahavis
Benahavis is a charming mountain village surrounded by nature above San Pedro de Alcantara.Visitors are captivated by its beauty and tranquil atmosphere.
The village features narrow cobbled streets lined with white houses, shops, and numerous restaurants.
The area is the wealthiest in Andalucia, largely due to the exclusive La Zagaleta Golf Urbanisation. The town’s population has nearly doubled due to new property developments attracting many non-locals.
The village boasts over 30 restaurants offering stunning views of the countryside. Many restaurants specialize in meat dishes, and there are also tapas bars for a snack or lunch.
For a romantic meal or relaxed drink, Benahavis is perfect. For lively nightlife, head to nearby Puerto Banus or Marbella, 10 and 20 minutes away by car, respectively. Estepona also offers a good mix of restaurants, bars, and a lively marina.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do in Benahavis, with walking trails, climbing in the gorge, a municipal gym, football pitch, swimming pool, tennis and padel courts, and excellent golf courses.
Benahavis provides a variety of golf options, suitable for all skill levels, including Marbella Club Golf Resort, El Higueral Club de Golf, La Zagaleta Club de Campo, La Quinta Melia Golf & Spa Resort, Los Flamingos Golf, among others.
Benahavis is only 12 minutes from the coast, with San Pedro’s family-friendly beaches and Puerto Banus just a bit further along.
Nearby Beach Clubs include The Ocean Club, La Sala by the Sea Beach Club, Plaza Beach, Astral Beach or Mistral Beach.
Estepona
Estepona has transformed from a small fishing village into a bustling tourist destination maintaining its Spanish charm, offering a more traditional holiday experience compared to busier resort towns. Famous for its colorful flowers on the streets, beautiful beaches, numerous cafes and tapas bars serving traditional Spanish dishes.
The historic centre of the city, known as the Centro Historico, is one of the prettiest on the Costa del Sol and evokes an idyllic memory of traditional Andalusian life. The streets of the Old Town are mostly free of car traffic.
Located 10 to 15 minutes’ drive from Marbella and Puerto Banus. Estepona covers an area of 137 km² with long sandy beaches overlooked by mountains.
The marina is perfect for evening strolls, dining at various restaurants. It features a wide range of bars and restaurants open from midday to evening, with lounge bars for cocktails. It is worth visiting on Sunday, because then there is a popular market with lots of stalls offering local handicrafts.
You can find five-star amenities, including hotels like Kempinski, Las Dunas, NH, and Senator Banus Hotel.
Numerous golf courses, including Los Flamingos Golf Resort, which houses luxury apartments and villas, two world-class 18-hole courses, and a golf academy. The resort’s Hotel Villa Padierna was chosen by Michelle Obama for a holiday.
Elviria
Elviria is a peaceful and safe location just a few kilometres east of Marbella’s town centre with some of the best beaches on the Costa del Sol. It is also a popular destination for those looking to relocate permanently or would like to buy a Spanish holiday home. It is conveniently located just 6km from the old town of Marbella and 45km from Malaga international airport. The area is well equipped with services, amenities and entertainment facilities and being a coastal resort many properties are within walking distance to the local beaches.
Cabopino is most renowned for its elegant marina full of busy restaurants and bars. The beach is particularly popular with families with young children as the bay shields the beach from waves and the waters remain shallow and calm.
The marina is surrounded by buildings and on the mountain side of the road are a selection of newly built and off plan apartments and townhouses.
During Marbella’s summer season, it is Nikki Beach that attracts the celebrities.
The area has a relaxed cosmopolitan feel, mainly due to the high number of expats. It is essentially a purpose built residential urbanisation which also incorporates golf courses. It is also peaceful and safe, making it ideal for families with children of all ages. There are plenty of restaurants shops, bars and charming beachside restaurants.
Elviria is home to the five star Don Carlos hotel.
There are three golf courses in Elviria, El Soto de Marbella course in La Mairena, Santa Maria golf course and Greenlife golf course.
You will find a small selection of shops, a commercial centre, supermarkets, restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries. Markets are held daily throughout the province of Malaga, Elviria’s market day is Friday.
Malaga International airport is within easy reach just 45 km or 35 minutes from Elviria.
Marbella
Marbella is one of the most charming cities on the entire Costa del Sol. As well as the beaches, sun, leisure and luxury lifetsyle, there are many more things to see in Marbella. It benefits from a microclimate weather and its varied terrain makes it one of the best destinations for outdoor sports enthusiasts.

Golf is another major attraction on the Costa del Sol with over 60 courses in total with Marbella boasting 20 golf courses. Golf developments are very popular as they combine all of the amenities of Marbella with the bonus of having easy access to the green and the club house.
British education in Marbella is on the rise and parents choose to move to the Costa del Sol, because of the international education options, weather, proximity to the airport and the infrastructure the Costa del Sol.
Marbella is linked to the rest of coast by two major roads which are the toll road AP-7 and the Autovia del Mediterraneo 340.
Nueva Andalucia
Nueva Andalucía, just above Puerto Banus, boasts high quality villas and townhouses. It also includes several international private schools and university. Also golf courses like the renowned Las Brisas Golf Course with a beautiful golf club and hotel. Nearby is Los Naranjos Golf Course, which has a popular golf club and restaurant.
To the east you can find Aloha Golf, which features another excellent golf course, club, and restaurant. To the west is La Quinta Golf course, with three 9-hole courses and a luxurious 5-star hotel.
The Marbella Arena is a unique cultural and entertainment space. Located in the old bullring of Nueva Andalucía. A space for leisure and culture that has the most modern technical systems (audiovisual, lights and sound).
It has a capacity for 5,300 people and hosts international concerts, opera, circus, sporting, corporate and institutional events, among others.
Nueva Andalucía also boasts hotels, a Shopping Centre “Centro Plaza”with numerous shops, restaurants and services. South is Puerto Banús area that offers Marbella’s most elegant and popular shopping area, including “El Corte Inglés shopping centre, a cinema, and numerous other shops and restaurants.
Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus has become one of the most famous Marinas in Europe. It is renowned as a holiday resort offering one of the best year round climates in Europe. The Marina has berths for nearly 1000 boats with wealthiest individuals mooring their yachts here. It offers a fantastic range of restaurants and cafe bars, and one of the liveliest beach resorts on the Costa del Sol.
Many venues for any party goers and clubbers are also available.
There are plenty of sports and family activities to enjoy. Catamaran rides, Banana rides, water skiing, wake boarding, yacht charters, diving. Many fitness centres are also available.
Tourists visit the port every year and many come for the Shopping opportunities with a wide selection of designer boutiques like Louis Vuitton, Tom Ford, Dior, Giorgio Armani among others. You can also find more brands in El Corte Ingles and Marina Banus shopping centres. During summer you can visit Plaza Antonio Banderas Market where you’ll find food, clothes, fashion accessories, handmade ceramics and much more.
